2. Purposes & Legal Basis
We process your data for the following purposes and on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:
- Sending you a tailored briefing on Turkey's enacted tax law, specific to your pathway — based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR), given by ticking the required checkbox.
- Notifying you of the official gazette publication once Erdogan signs the legislation — based on the same consent.
- Introducing you to local professionals in Turkey (tax advisors, lawyers, banks, immigration specialists) — only if you separately and explicitly consent via the optional checkbox. We never share your data with third parties based on required-consent alone. We do not endorse or guarantee the services of any professional.
- Responding to direct enquiries sent by email — based on our legitimate interest in communicating with people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).
- Security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance — based on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) and legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)).
Right to withdraw consent: You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing support@taxfreeinturkey.com. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal.
3. Data Sharing & Recipients
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We only share data in the following circumstances:
- Local professionals in our network in Turkey (tax advisors, lawyers, banks, immigration specialists) — only when you have ticked the optional partner-introduction checkbox, and only with professionals whose services match your stated requirements. We do not endorse or guarantee their services.
- Service providers acting as data processors under written data processing agreements:
- Website hosting and form handling providers operating under EU Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable
- Privacy-first analytics services using only aggregated, cookieless data
- Regulatory authorities — only when required by law, court order, or statutory obligation.
We do not engage in automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.
4. International Data Transfers
Your data is primarily stored and processed within the United Kingdom. Where transfers outside the UK occur:
- To EU/EEA countries — covered by the UK's adequacy regulations for EU/EEA transfers.
- To Turkey — only when you have provided explicit optional consent for partner introductions. Turkey does not have an adequacy decision from the UK ICO; transfers are conducted under International Data Transfer Agreements (IDTAs) and your specific consent (Article 49(1)(a) UK GDPR).
- To the United States — where third-party service providers are US-based, transfers are made under the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement framework or equivalent safeguards.
5. Retention Periods
- Registration form data — retained for up to 24 months from the date of submission, or until you withdraw consent, whichever comes first.
- Email correspondence — retained for up to 24 months for documentation; longer only if required by law.
- Technical logs (IP, timestamp) — retained for a maximum of 30 days, then permanently deleted.
You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@taxfreeinturkey.com. We will act on such requests within 30 days.
6. Cookies & Tracking
This website uses only strictly necessary cookies required for security and form functionality. We do not place advertising cookies, behavioural tracking cookies, or any cookies that identify you across other websites.
We use a privacy-first analytics solution that operates without cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not share any data with advertising networks. Only anonymous, aggregated statistics (e.g., number of page visits, referring source, country-level location) are gathered.
No cookie consent banner is required under the UK ePrivacy Regulations for strictly necessary cookies. Should we introduce any optional cookies in the future, we will implement a proper consent mechanism before they are activated.
